Welcome to The Pride! As we head into the home stretch of the school year, May is all about momentum. Students are applying what they’ve learned, wrapping up learning, and getting ready for what’s next—whether that’s moving up a grade or making the leap to middle school. This is the time of year when we dig deep, stay focused, and finish strong.
It was great celebrating the volunteers at Lynch at the end of April. Thank you for selflessly giving your time and expertise to support students and staff at Lynch!
Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5–9) Please consider sending your child’s teacher a special note for Teacher Appreciation Week. Use the Google Form link provided to submit a personalized message, and we’ll make sure it gets to the teacher during the week of May 5–9.
Our team works incredibly hard to serve students, and this is a meaningful way to say thank you.
State Testing Update In April, 3rd–5th grade students completed portions of the Oregon State Assessment (OSAS), and we’re incredibly proud of their effort and focus. These assessments help our team understand how students are doing with grade-level content and guide instructional planning.
Thank you for continuing to encourage your child to do their best, show up rested, and stay engaged.
Behavior and Attendance: Steady Progress, Stronger Community This school year, we’ve seen meaningful growth in two critical areas: student behavior and attendance. While there's always room to grow, we’ve experienced fewer classroom disruptions, fewer office referrals, and more students showing up consistently and on time.
That kind of progress doesn’t happen by accident. It reflects:
Students learning to manage emotions, make better choices, and stay engaged
Staff showing consistency and care
Families making learning a priority
We're proud of the direction we’re heading—and we’re grateful for the team effort it takes to get there.
Other Celebrations:
Parade of Champions We’re proud to recognize students from across Lynch who’ve gone above and beyond this year.
Oregon Battle of the Books Battle of the Books was a blast this year! Students worked hard—coming in early, competing with heart, and showing incredible dedication. They entered the Redmond battle as underdogs and took first place! They went on to do great at the Regional competition in Culver. We are so proud of their achievements.
Robotics Our Robotics Club had an incredible season, taking home 1st place in Coding and 1st place in Team Driving! The team worked hard, supported one another, and cheered each other on every step of the way. Their dedication and teamwork made this season a success!
Chess Chess Club started strong this year with 34 students. Each of them made huge gains in their understanding of the game. We’re ending the year strong, with 11 students invited to the State Chess Tournament!
Kindergarten Enrollment We’re excited to open enrollment for the 2025–2026 school year! If you have a future kindergartener, please contact the main office with any questions—we’re here to help get them ready for a great start.
Middle School Transition Earlier this month, our 5th graders visited their future middle schools, met staff, and got a sneak peek at what’s ahead. We know this transition can feel big, and we’re committed to helping students (and families) feel confident and prepared.
If you have any questions or want to talk through next steps, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Looking Ahead The next few weeks will be full of celebration and closure:
We’re grateful for all the ways you’ve supported our school community this year. Let’s keep the momentum going and finish strong—together.
With Gratitude,
Chris Wyland

Grief Camp for Kids - Camp Sunrise
Hospice of Redmond is delighted to announce the return of our free three-day overnight camp for 2025! This year, Camp Sunrise will be held for children ages 7-12 from June 20th to June 22nd at Suttle Lake Camp. Camp Sunrise will also offer a day-long Teen Grief Retreat, open for teens ages 13-17, on June 21st at Suttle Lake Camp.
Attendees can live anywhere in Central Oregon and do not need to be grieving a loss from the previous year. Attendees may be grieving the loss of a parent, friend, classmate, pet, grandparent, or sibling. Hospice of Redmond does not put limitations on the type of grief a person may be experiencing.
Camp Sunrise is founded on the understanding that every child and teen deserves the opportunity to grieve in a safe, supportive, and understanding environment. With loving support, children and teens grieving a death can share their experiences with acceptance as they move through the healing process. The children’s program will have structured games, music, art, stories, and other therapies to teach bereaved campers about grief and how to understand their feelings. The teen program will have some of these elements woven into a mature program with age-specific topics based on teens’ unique needs. We are pleased to offer our campers support from a professional, trained staff and volunteers.

In keeping with our efforts to go more paperless, student report cards have been loaded into ParentVue (through synergy). To view your child's report card starting on Feb 5th at 4pm, please follow these steps: Login to ParentVue then View Report Card
