Reminders about Dress Code

Posted Date: 05/20/25 (11:37 AM)

As the weather gets nicer, now is a great time to remind everyone about the Dress Code policy for the District and here at Lynch.  We thank you for your continued partnership.  As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Student Dress Code

District policy around dress and grooming can be found in Board Policy JFCA. The aim is to ensure a safe and disruption-free learning environment.

  • Clothing that references alcohol, drugs, or tobacco, as well as inappropriate or suggestive sayings, are not permitted.

  • Half shirts (showing the stomach), halter tops, and see-through tops are prohibited.

  • Sleeveless tops are permitted as long as they are modest and do not reveal undergarments or private body parts.

  • Shorts, skirts, or dresses that are shorter than the student's fingertips when arms hang naturally, are not allowed. As students go about the normal activities of the day (sitting, bending, etc.) their modesty should not be compromised.

  • Wallet chains and dog collars are prohibited for safety reasons.

  • Open-toed shoes are cautioned against for safety during active play, and tennis shoes are required for physical education (PE) activities.

  • Hoods are only allowed during recess and special occasions.

  • Concerns around student dress will be addressed through conversation, in the classroom or in the office, to maintain the student’s dignity
