Principal’s Message

Welcome to The Pride~

Lynch has started Lunch Time Clubs as a way to support enrichment during the school day and reduce the number of behavior incidents during lunch. As the Lynch team has worked on Lunch Time Clubs it has taken each adult and student to work together on solutions. We are working on continuing to make this an engaging experience for students where the Lynch team is able to share their passion and expertise outside of the classroom. Some examples of lunch time clubs available to students are 3D printing, rock climbing, coding, soccer, cheerleading, kickball, and Project Success. Clubs change every 4-6 weeks as a way to continue to engage students in different types of learning and experiences. Students are still receiving a recess in the morning and afternoon, which is supervised by their classroom teacher. Lunch Time Clubs have also had an impact on the number of behavior referrals in the cafeteria and on the playground. From the start of the year until the end of January, the students at Lynch had a 48% reduction in referrals during the same time period and activity from last school year. We are encouraged by this data, and look forward to building from this positive trend.

We are excited to start a new artist in residence experience at Lynch in February. Kat Raines and Jaima Zollinger will be working with all grade levels on different school displays of art. There will be three different projects that will be happening at the same time around campus. We look forward to your students getting to share their art work with you at the Spring Family Engagement events on March 4th.

The gates open each day by 8:45. The North gate and South gate are available for drop off and students who walk to school. Please know that supervision starts at 8:45 as gates open. The south gate is available for access through the Obsidian Middle School parking lot. The West gate is for cars only and available for drop off and pick up. The West gate is not available for any walk up, only drive through. We request your support with gates to help keep students safe and help everyone with drop off and pick up. The systems for gates work great, but as a Lynch community we have to make sure that we are embracing the specifics for each gate. If you have any questions about the details for each gate, please contact the main office.

This year report cards will be loaded onto ParentVue. They will be available by February 4th @ 4PM. Direction links for logging on and viewing the report cards will go out again on Parent Square next week.  Please connect with the front office if you would like your child’s report card printed and we will send it home in their backpack. Thank you for your feedback about digital report cards, and please let us know if you have any questions.

With gratitude and pride,

Chris Wyland

Meet our FAN Advocate

The Family Access Network logo features the letters FAN in a black box with a blue accent.

Welcome  Families:
I often get asked “What can FAN help with?” and the answer is, whatever a family may be in need of! If I don’t have resources I can provide directly, I will do my best to connect a family with a resource within our community that can help them with the issue at hand. Some of the things we assist with most often are housing, utilities, clothing, school supplies, food, and health/insurance needs. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if your family could use some extra assistance!
If you are seeking energy/power assistance, Neighbor Impact will be opening their energy assistance program for one day on Monday, Dec. 15th. Applications will be available on their website on that day and will shut down once the allocated slots have been used. It is first come, first serve. Processing may take awhile and assistance is not guaranteed. This is a great opportunity for those who may be currently behind on their electric or gas bills. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
I have included some food resources that families can access to supplement:

Potential food resources via FAN - I may have additional resources that I can offer.  Please reach out to me if you are in need of additional resources.

As always, I can be reached via email at jordan.chandler@redmondschools.org or by call/text at 541-699-8849

Books are fun
Thank you to everyone that participated and donated to our Book Blast Event.  We will be distributing books and (for those students that earned it) prizes the first week of March during Read Across America Week as well as reveal our Epic Treasure Chest Winner.  Just some fun facts to share:

  46.7% participation
  $15,629 donated
40 students will earn all the books in their grade level map, but ALL students will receive at             least one book
4 teachers earned a $100 shopping spree (for % of class participation)
Our library will receive almost $1,600 in new books.

We have been told this in an amazing first time doing this event.  We enjoyed it so much, we have already committed to this again.  Our goal was simple:  Putting books in the hands of our students.

Thank you again for your partnership with us. It is greatly appreciated!!

ParentVue: Accessing Your Child’s Grades

The Redmond School District is committed to keeping families informed about student learning. One of the best ways to stay up-to-date is by using ParentVue, our secure online portal.

Through ParentVue, you can:

  • View your child’s grades and assignments

  • Access important school documents

  • See report cards and progress updates

Elementary Grading Scale (1–4)
At the elementary level, grades are reported using a 1–4 proficiency scale. This scale helps show how your child is progressing toward grade-level expectations:

  • 4 – Exceeds: Consistently demonstrates deep understanding and applies skills independently.

  • 3 – Meets: Consistently demonstrates grade-level expectations.

  • 2 – Developing: Making progress but not yet meeting grade-level expectations.

  • 1 – Beginning: Needs significant support and is just beginning to develop skills.

For more details about the grading scale, please see this resource.

Getting Started with ParentVue

  1. Visit https://redmondschools.org/

  2. Click ParentVue at the top right menu.

  3. Log in with your username and password. (If you need help setting up or resetting your account, please contact your school office.)
