OBOB is beginning!!

Posted Date: 10/19/26 (09:18 AM)

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to begin another year of Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB)! This is a club available for 3rd-5th graders.

Please take a moment to look over the attached book list and sign the permission slip if you would like your child to participate. On the form, you can check off which books you give your child permission to read. It is important that your student brings this to the first OBOB meeting on October 29th at 7:45am in the Lynch Library so I can officially add them to the club. Students can only start checking out OBOB books once I have the permission slip back. Parents, you do not need to attend the meeting but please feel free to check in with me if you have any questions.

At our first meeting, we will talk about the books and the process of choosing a team and the competition itself. Students who have turned in their permission slip can check out their first OBOB book. I will be available to help your child choose their first book to get started. OBOB meetings will be held every Thursday from 7:45 AM to 8:45 AM in the library. They will be excused from the library to go to class when the bell rings.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me via ParentSquare or by email at jaima.zollinger@redmondschools.org.

Thank you for your support, and I look forward to a fun and exciting OBOB season!

Warmly,
Jaima Zollinger
